Break tracking - US

Some jurisdictions, including the State of California in the US, require mandated work/lunch breaks based on regulatory laws. Workers tracking time in the Time & Attendance app are automatically prompted to confirm the requirements associated to these mandated work/lunch breaks based on the settings entered on their shift template.

For example: California labor laws entitle non-exempt workers to a 30-minute uninterrupted, duty-free meal break when they work more than 5 hours in a workday. JoinedUp’s break tracking feature simplifies this meal break tracking while also ensuring legislative compliance for all applicable work locations. Eligible meal breaks are calculated automatically based on shift templates when Workers enter start and stop times. They also have the option to indicate whether the break was taken or waived.
