Ontario Legislation Guide

This guide outlines the JoinedUp configurations that have been implemented to support compliance with Canada legislation for suppliers.

Employment Types

There are two types of Employment for Canadian Workers.

  • T4

  • T4A

As an agency user, this can be edited under the Employment Status on the worker’s profile.

Once this is set-up, you must ensure that a corresponding rate is defined in the Shift Template.

Working Time Regulation

There are configuration about the Working Time Regulation that satisfy the requirement according to the Ontario State Legislation and the Canada Federal Legislation.

These are the following:

  1. Rest hours: 11 consecutive hours each day, within a rolling 24 hour period

  2. Rest hours: 8 hours of rest between shifts

These are implemented as a setting that can be enabled in the Shift Template under Advance Settings and Shift Planning Settings.

You may need to reach out to your End-client to enable this setting.

When this setting is enabled, an error message will appear informing you that it will breach the Working time regulation.

However, you can proceed to allocate the worker by selecting the Ignore button highlighted in yellow.
